With the support of the overall community and the residents of West Englewood, we will create a new space in that will support and help sustain the community in which we live and thrive.

West Englewood is in need of a path to success for our youth. Our kids and their families
need a community to gather and to help West Englewood rise up against the violence and
hopelessness that we experience everyday.

The West Englewood Community Center will provide that hope and that
opportunity for everyone in our community.

Our Mission

Our Vision

Our vision for West Englewood Community Center is to provide a community space and programs for all residents residing in our community to utilize, and ultimately lift our community higher.

Through the West Englewood Community Center, we will empower people and grow a bright light of hope for the future of West Englewood. By connecting our youth with the elders of our community, we can come together to provide hope and opportunity to all.

The community center will be more than just a gathering place. It will provide jobs, opportunities, educational opportunities and all the while, sharing God’s love and provision

Urban Gardening

Because of poverty, lack of education and opportunity, the obesity rate in the African American community is reaching an epidemic level. Many of the health conditions our youth and the residents living in the West Englewood community face can be reversed or even prevented with the proper education, access and opportunity.

The Urban Gardening feature of the new
West Englewood Community Center will give residents an option and a way to improve their eating habits and to learn how eating better leads to a better and healthier life. Gardening will also provide a unique learning experience that could change their lives forever.
